I post weekly either to the blog section or the product showcase every Sunday at 10am. Monthly I write a newsletter post with links to previous postings for the month. Subscribe to the newsletter to get monthly updates.

This picture shows how and when this blog originated to journal my budding painting practice in 2018. It was the first ever picture of this art photo blog.
I used makeup brushes, old cosmetic products and aromatherapy herbs to paint and create textures and uplifting smells for decor.
I worked intuitively with the paints using my old tools on the WH Smiths paper.
I even upcycled old Charlie Bingham ready-meal boxes to store colour tubes and act as my paint-mixing palette.
.
Since then, I have explored more established mixed media techniques and was inspired by the fantastical. You will read about me taking creative pilgrimages, going to decor expos and learning techniques at world-class art schools. I also dip into the odd short course around London evenings or weekends to help keep my art practice going and stay on top of my skills. I will develop my comments on the performative features of art and its potential role in reinforcing or fixing organisation cultures. Doing that will show the development of my technical practice as an artist as well as the conceptual elements of my work.
This blog posts mostly behind-the-scenes images and stories of my paintings and office decor with texture and warmth. It includes, storage, bins and lampshade-making practice. It was a soft hand sewn lampshade-making course I took in 2009 helped me rediscover my creativity after a long spell of solemnity and formality in university teaching and academia which contrasted with my early work in the hedonistic yet calming world of beauty, spa and cosmetics. You will see how my products either succeed or fail at curiously integrating all these spheres.
I have long had an insatiable appetite for making things that make homes look beautiful since my early teenage years. At first recollection, this appetite stems from recognising my skill for creating impressive, warm and welcoming home feelings with decor, which I sharpened through developing properties in the 90s and noughties. However, deeper consideration forced me to realise that I became known for having good taste in home decor trends despite having a teenage shame that the house we grew up in was not always one of those homes that looked nice or better when you got inside. I recall how I took charge of the family’s interior statements throughout my teenage years whether giving Dad advice during his furniture making (he was a cabinet maker/ carpenter) or deciding on the colour of the curtains, making them and then installing them for the substantial tumbledown victorian house in West London that was our home.

Trying to integrate all my talents, experiences and passions to produce new art pieces and home decor, especially for home offices, studies and dens, making these available to those that get the cause, selling from my Etsy shop. I am curious about the power of decor for communicating meaning and inspiring behaviour in this age of toxic work cultures and institutions the need to change
