Small Flying Ducks Lampshades

A set of experimental conceptual pieces

I’ve loved this Mulberry (no affiliation) fabric since I saw an upholsterer use it, to cover a stunning chair on Instagram. I enjoyed experimenting 🥼 making these as I originally imagined they’d be a powerful post modern answer to the old fashioned (now called mid century) look of having flying ducks on your wall. Itt makes the flying duck decor stylish and fashionable again in the 21st Century.

Previously it was Stan and Hilder Ogden who famously had flying ducks decorating their wall on the Coronation Coronation Street TV soap opera program by ITV (UK). This went on well into the 90s. Now I loved what the Mulberry designers did by setting the duck figure on a symptoms velvet or linen and giving the ducks a modern black outline reminiscent of cool X-Men cartoons. Yes they’re ducks but the design makes them super powered ducks wooshing into to the rescue like supermannman.

I also thought they’d look great in an interior with a gentleman’s club vibe. But still making up my mind on that one. 🤨
