I travelled to Margate and stayed at a lovely hotel behind Tate Contemporary.

I saw lots of lovely sea views and sunsets. See eight more images below

I took a gentle stroll to join others enjoying the golden hour.

The journey was also a pilgrimage as I tried to find the bench that Mum and I once sat on in 2008. I found it in the end. I recalled how, at age 80ish, Mum and I walked up and down the pier and looked out to sea for a long time perhaps hours.

Textured office art Useful to cleverly connects & Convey the brand.
One piece of art I discovered was this circular, highly textured piece made of mussel shells. The artist is unknown. It was propped up in the offices of a seaweed-based cosmetic firm I visited. The cosmetic brand is design savvy. I loved and appreciated their bold choices with this piece of art. But because their product is made of seaweed, it was right that mussel shells were used.

Next week I’ll post more about my visit to Tate Contemporary and what I think of the art there.
