3 Fantasy Makes: Ducks in a Row & Houses in Order

It’s a photo and video post this week. I’m currently in the process of creating three items that I’ve been dreaming about making for years and months.

One of them is a lampshade with a touch of irony and messaging, which has proven to be a popular item in my shop and was quickly sold out once listed. I plan on making more of these shortly, now that I have a system for easily attaching personalized messages and words onto my items.

Lampshade makers refer to rolling a drum shade. It is more complicated than that but this is the one with messaging in the making. Got lots of ideas for the kinds of messages that will go on, especially for desk, shelf and office spaces in the era of online meetings and managing virtual teams.

Additionally, there are two designer fabrics that I have been longing to acquire. One is Timney Fowler, which I have loved since the 90s when I used to pop into their outlets and drool over their latest patterns when they had a shop in Hammersmith and around Kings Road. The other is Mulberry’s Flying Ducks, which is a currently trending interior style and seems to have popularised a 50’s and 60’s style that had gone out of fashion but is back now that mid-century is a big look.

Hoping to complete and list these three in the shop over the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll probably do a product showcase of these too, since I’ve been fantasising about making them for the longest time.
