Recently I’ve been experimenting with colour intensity and they’re beginning to convey my sense about how we work and contemporary working environments.
In the paintings this week I’ve gone to bold acidic florescent hued lines and contrasted with fervent calligraphic strokes of exceedingly dull neutrals on very ordinary mass produced shades.

Overall its possibly making statement pieces about the organisational tensions that we grapple with in the workplace and while doing our work.

We all work through these tensions whether you’re working from home or back in the office.

I find it’s useful to have those challenges acknowledged and expressed silently through an artifact that happens to use rather loud meaningful colours mapping out the complex journeys and tortuous terrain undertaken.

I’ve not yet decided whether I will add resin to these. If I do, it will provide the polished slick look I like but will also signify the positive psychological state or process of containment.
